No Sarah Palin for President 2012

Just hours ago, Sarah Palin announced her decision not to run for president in 2012. In a Facebook note to supporters, Palin also made a call for energy independence and, interestingly enough, renewable energy:
I will continue driving the discussion for freedom and free markets, including the race for President, where our candidates must embrace immediate action towards energy independence through domestic resource developments of conventional energy sources, along with renewables.
Not bad for someone who just last month referred to solar panels as a harebrained idea.

Michelle Bachmann Answers 2012 Question on FOX News

Representative Michelle Bachmann (R-MN) dismissed rumors that she might be considering a run for president during an interview with FOX News yesterday... sort of. Bachmann is scheduled to deliver a speech in her home state of Iowa, where Republican presidential candidates will face off in the first big political fight of the 2012 election season. The Tea Party favorite declined to answer the question directly. Instead, she adopted the Sarah Palin approach of criticizing the media, saying reporters are too focused on 2012.

John McCain won't endorse Sarah Palin... yet

Earlier today, John McCain told CBS News that Sarah Palin would make a great presidential candidate in 2012. He also said that he is not ready to endorse Palin just yet, which makes sense given that his former running mate has yet to even declare her candidacy. The move suggests that John McCain will be active on the campaign trail in New Hampshire in 2012, even though he won't be running for president. McCain's endorsement could give Palin a much needed boost in the Granite State, given that he won key primary contests here in 2000 and 2008.
