Rudy Giuliani believes in global warming

Rudy Giuliani may not be an official candidate for president just yet, but he’s polling like one in New Hampshire. Giuliani placed fourth in the latest UNH Survey Center poll of likely 2012 Republican Primary voters, tying Jon Huntsman and out performing longtime contenders Rick Perry, Newt Gingrich, Michele Bachmann and Rick Santorum.

The new poll comes at a time when media reports indicate that Giuliani is unlikely to run for president in 2012. Still, the former New York Mayor has already made several visits to New Hampshire this year to test the waters, including a July 15 stop at Dartmouth College where he confirmed his belief in anthropogenic, or man made, global warming:

Okay, first of all, I will say warming is happening (jokingly wipes sweat from his brow). I think global warming is happening. I think humans contribute to it. I think it is a major issue. That’s what I said in 2008—I still agree with that.

This week, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani made his first trip to New Hampshire of the 2012 election cycle. During the visit, Giuliani made some rather below the belt remarks about President Barack Obama.

"The president of the United States had no qualifications for this job... and we elected him anyway," he claimed. "He really seems like he doesn't know what he's doing."

Giuliani is currently considering launching what would be his second consecutive presidential campaign in 2012.

Rudy Giuliani for President in 2012?

The list of potential Republican presidential candidates for 2012 is beginning to look awfully familiar. Mike Huckabee, Sarah Palin, and Mitt Romney are all said to be contemplating another run at the White House. Even Rudy Giuliani is thinking about jumping back in the mix.

If he does run, Giuliani probably won't receive much support here in New Hampshire. In 2008, Giuliani came in a distant fourth place here, garnering just 8 percent of the vote. Once considered a frontrunner, he just barely managed to outperform the insurgent Ron Paul. Giuliani's quest for the White House would end just a few weeks later.
