Newt Gingrich on coal reserves in Alaska

Watch out Alaska! Here comes Newt Gingrich with plan to increase federal government revenue by turning an area of your state the size of Texas into a giant coal mine.
What follows are remarks made by the former House Speaker to The Des Moines Register Editorial Board during a December 15, 2011 interview:
I’m for more revenue by opening up federal lands.
You know, we own 69% of Alaska.
That’s 1 ½ times the size of Texas.
You can give half of Texas to the environmentalists and that would leave you an area the size of Texas to develop.
Largest coal reserve in the United States is in Alaska.
There are lots of things we can do to generate revenue. They just don’t involve raising taxes.

  1. Oh my God!! He is too brainy, i just cannot wait to see Newt Gingrich become the nominee and proceed to wipe the floor with Obama and his naive cronies around him. This beautiful country's immage has taken a negative nose dive with an experiment of inexperienced leadership under this rhetoric, teleprompter star. There is the need therefore, for a swift restoration by denying Obama another four year term. As for Romney, he is a big joke. Wait until the breast feedind by the soo called establishment is done and see if he is cable of managing his own affais. God bless America.
