Al Gore for President 2012?

Al Gore’s recent criticism of President Barack Obama's failure to push federal climate legislation through the U.S. Senate may have some speculating about the former Vice President’s intentions for 2012. Is Gore planning to make a third run for president?

Gore likely put any lingering questions about his potential candidacy to rest last week, when he appeared as a guest on Current TV’s Countdown with Keith Olbermann.

“Do you think the president should be re-nominated by his party? And do you think he should be re-elected by his country?” Olbermann asked.

Gore’s response: “Well, I support him and I think he will be.”

“I support Barack Obama. I like Barack Obama,” he said. “But we have got to have a more forceful articulation of the vision that our country needs to follow and the values that we hold in our hearts when we say, ‘Yes. We are going to educate our children. We are going to clean up the environment. We’re not going to ignore the climate crisis.’”

  1. Obama is NOT environmental, never was, and never will be!!!! He has sold out the environment AND the American people! If you did not know it before the debt ceiling debacle, you should know it now - S&P - Washington is such a mess there is little confidence anything will get fixed! AND, 86% of the public say everything was done for political reasons, not for the people! Now, the fingerpointing! THEY ALL OWN IT! Not one elected official has stood up and said, "Gee, we certainly made mistakes here - we need to do a better job for the COUNTRY," not one! Every person in the administration and Congress is in some way responsible! IT IS TIME TO STOP VOTING PARTIES - THEY THINK THEY CAN PULL THE CHAINS AROUND OUR NECKS AND WE WILL FALL BACK IN LINE!!! That is why they do this and ignore the polls! I don't think we should give them that!Independents, write-ins, whatever - no votes for any of these gys!

  4. Rightly elected 2000 President Al Gore should not have given in to George Bush. Barrack Obama is the President now and he must be re elected in 2012. I do agree however that the Clinton,Gore era was a good era for average Americans as well as the poor, and i agree with Gore on the environment . Obama needs to work hand in hand with Gore in his next term.

  5. I voted for Gore, first time I ever voted(21 years old).He was robbed,I was so sickened by it all I didn't vote come next election and regreted it.I voted for Obama,he won, then he started doing things he said he wouldn't and didn't do the things he said he would.I know the republicans have held him back, but not in the begining.Obama isn't the biggest problem but he is part of it.I refuse to vote for Obama again and found this in hope that Gore might run as a indepedant.I'm sick of democrats and republicans, they never see the big picture. They're just two gangs fighting over who's on who's side. There hate for each other is gross,we need some one to fight for the United States of America. Not brats that can't stop fighting with each other.
