With one year remaining before New Hampshire's first-in-the-nation presidential primary, a new poll shows former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney continuing to enjoy his status as the early frontrunner here. Jumping into second place in the latest WMUR Granite State Poll: Rudy Giuliani. Here's how the numbers broke down:
Mitt Romney 40%
Rudy Giuliani 10%
Tim Pawlenty 7%
Mike Huckabee 7%
Newt Gingrich 6%
Sarah Palin 6%
Ron Paul 6%
Donald Trump 3%
Rick Santorum 1%
Haley Barbour 1%
The poll was conducted by the UNH Survey Center and has a margin of error of 3.5%.
Sarah Palin's poor showing only further confirms that her "power" is a myth perpetuated by a fawning media with no basis in reality.
ReplyDeleteI'm a little surprised Ron Paul didn't fair better in NH where I assumed libertarians held more sway. Maybe NH's libertarians just don't see Paul as a realistic candidate?
Ron Paul's current standing in the polls is consistent with his showing in the 2008 New Hampshire primary, when he won 8 percent of the vote. If he does run, it will be interesting to see if receives more or less votes this time around. I could see it going either way.
