Gary Johnson Visits New Hampshire

Former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson is in New Hampshire this week testing the waters for a possible presidential run. He'll be in Manchester tonight for the New Hampshire Young Republicans Christmas Party. Johnson is also scheduled to make stops in Concord, Keene, Lebanon, Manchester, Nashua, and Portsmouth.

Johnson is not your typical Republican presidential candidate. During a meeting with the editorial board of the Concord Monitor on Tuesday, Johnson expressed his support for ending the war in Afghanistan and legalizing marijuana. He is also fiscally conservative to the extreme, calling for a 43 percent cut in government spending.

  1. According to Gary Johnson:
•Never raised taxes during his 8 years as governor of New Mexico
•Cut over 1,200 government jobs without firing anyone
    •Cut taxes 14 times
    •Vetoed over 750 bills
•Was the biggest advocate in the country for school vouchers
•Started his own small business and became a multi-millionaire

  2. I heard Gary Johnson on Boston talk radio (WBZ) for an hour last night and he sounded great. He's a small government Republican across the board -- that's exactly where the GOP needs to be going right now. With the GOP's record during the Bush years, there are very few "conservatives" that I trust right now... but Gary looks like the real deal.

  4. His will be one of the most interesting campaigns to watch... if he ends up running.
